A massive dust storm swept through the Kathmandu Valley on Monday.A huge plume of dust blew across the valley, affecting the normal life of people. People on the roads were forced to take shelters at various places to avoid suffocating storm.Meanwhile, the flights preparing to land at Tribhuvan International Airport were diverted due to poor visibility.For the past one week, Kathmandu and several other parts of the country have been shrouded in a blanket of haze, with increased concentration of particulate matter, which experts say, is enough to penetrate deep into the lungs.
